Several different polls by music professionals and rock jounalists

have ranked our record Juba Juba among the 20 best albums ever made in Norway.

I went  solo in 1986. Of my 5 CDs, 4 won Norwegian Grammies

(best record of the year for children)

and the 5th won a nomination.

Counting the two Grammies  K&L won, that gives me a total of 6.

I have written a wide range of  novels, poetry, and

books about as different topics as racism and farting.

In my work for UNICEF I made special efforts in these fields:

  1. The Convention on the Rights of the Child

  2. Fight against racism

  3. Fight against landmines

  4. Active use of culture in the rehabilitation of war traumatized children

In later years, I have worked with the psychologist Magne Raundalen and others. We have run therapy groups for refugees in Norway, and educated teachers and psychologists in many countries.

I am an author/musician living in Norway. For 8 years I was appointed Unicef's National Goodwill Ambassador.

In the years 1970-86 my friend Øystein Dolmen and I were the folk/pop duo

"Knutsen & Ludvigsen".

We started out making music for children,

but as we grew older, so did our audience.

Lately, we have enjoyed an amazing, new interest in our music.
